We may collect basic personal information, such as name, email, and phone number in regards to a sale or application, to administer the account, and contact the customer in providing the service. Relevant information may also be collected on the student’s current level and progress in order to effectively administer their education.
Any information collected will be stored privately and never shared or disclosed with any third party, except in registering the student in an exam or competition with their or their guardian’s permission (such as AMEB exams), or unless necessary to aid in emergency services or a criminal investigation.
An individual may access their personal information and seek correction of such information about themselves or their dependants, via email to info@spencersstringstudio.com.
If an individual finds breach with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP), or a registered APP code (if any) that binds the entity, notify via email to info@spencersstringstudio.com, and we will rectify the issue in accordance with the APP.
Individuals have the options of not identifying themselves, or of using a pseudonym, though this may be impractical in conducting an online purchase of services.
We will not collect personal information (other than sensitive information) unless the information is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, one or more of the entity’s functions or activities. We will take such steps (if any) as are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure that the personal information that we collect and use is accurate, up-to-date, complete and relevant.
Sensitive information regarding any current or historic information on the student’s health, may be requested if deemed to have possible and relevant implications in the student performing on the violin. In providing such information you agree to have it collected, used and stored to aid in the continued service of the student.
Information will be collected only by lawful and fair means. Personal information will only be collected about an individual from the individual or their parent or guardian.
Any unsolicited personal information received will be destroyed after a reasonable period.
We will not use contact information for any direct marketing, but we may notify continuing and current customers of updates in our operations and procedure.
We will take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to protect the information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
If personal information is held about an individual, and we no longer need the information for any purpose for which the information may be used or disclosed under this privacy policy,, and we are not required by or under an Australian law, or a court/tribunal order, to retain the information, we will take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to destroy the information.
Any issue not covered in this policy will be referred to the Australian Privacy Principles guidelines.
